Wildfire Exemption Permit Application

When the Fire Danger Rating is HIGH or EXTREME, all high-risk activities in the interface or intermix area (within 10 meters of the forest or vegetation) require a wildfire exemption permit. A minimum two-hour fire-watch is required after all activity ceases.

Permits are not valid and will not be issued during Water Conservation Stage 3 as site mitigation measures may compromise the low municipal water supply. For more information see Water Conservation Stages.

Fees:

A non-refundable $150 fee applies for each work site. The fee is payable by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Visa Debit (2.2% credit card fee applies to all transactions).

IMPORTANT

  • Permits require a site inspection prior to approval.
  • Permits must be applied for each year and expire Dec 31.
  • Landscape companies conducting maintenance works on multiple sites may apply for a single permit.
  • Hardscape landscape projects require separate permits for each site.
